The Cotswolds

Burford

Burford has a steep High Street, lined with Tudor and Georgian buildings, leading down to an arched bridge which crosses the River Windrush. A visit to the ancient Parish church, dedicated to St John the Baptist, is highly recommended. Burford is known as the most beautiful of all Cotswolds towns and was the first to receive a market charter in 1107. Take your time to explore Burford, it has a great deal to offer, including - fabulous antique shops and inns and amazing buildings steeped in history. Burford is also an excellent area for walking and cycling.
